The Smiths Medical Base CADD Plus 5400 drug delivery pump is indicated for intravenous and subcutaneous infusions. The pump’s flexibility in programming allows it to be used in a variety of settings, including the home.
The clinician may program the pump in either of two modes: The continuous mode or the intermittent mode. In the continuous mode, the pump delivers medication at a constant rate. In the intermittent mode, it delivers medication at regular, preset intervals.
